The moon shined brightly, bright as a light bulb, against the roof top. Monty, a jet black haired boy, walked towards the edge, gently and calmly. Right at the edge, he sat down, staring at the moon. Tired, he yawned loudly.
He then heard a voice, upbeat and chipper, from behind. Monty turned around and saw a boy with dirty blonde hair. Monty immediately knew who it was, Kerry. One of his closest, "friends." That's what their friends thought. He was actually in Polyamorous relationship with Kerry and another person named Miles.
Filled with glee, Kerry skipped joyfully towards him. Monty cocked his head to the side, wondering about Kerry's sudden appearance. Kerry smiled at Monty as he sat beside him, his eyes twinkling with life.
"Why are you on the rooftop so early?" Kerry wondered. All Monty did was smile at the boy, his eyes obviously tired. He rested his head against Kerry's shoulder.
"It's a full moon tonight. They're usually really pretty and I just wanted to see it. Plus, it looks like the inside of an Oreo." Monty replied, his voice slightly monotone.
Kerry chuckled, quiet and soft, "Do you think of anything else but food?" He turned his body slightly towards Monty to see if he would respond.
"Eh, I'm kind of hungry. Should we check on Miles, to see if he hadn't burned the house down yet?" He replied with a long yawn at the end. Retaliating, Kerry gave him a light, playful shove.
"Nah, I already checked up on him. He's just making microwavable Mac and cheese." Kerry defended. Monty rolled his eyes. Both of them secretly knew, that deep inside, Miles was pretty dumb at times.
"Remember when Miles electrocuted himself while plugging in the air conditioner?" Monty recalled as a small grin began to appear on his face. A couple months ago, in June, Miles was in charge of plugging in the AC. But he accidentally placed his fingers too close to the plug, despite the number of times both of them told him to not hold the plug that way.
"Stop being mean towards Miles." Kerry jokingly snapped. "But remember when you accidentally cut yourself with a plastic knife?" Miles, Monty and Kerry all went to a Chinese restaurant. Obviously, they had the plastic utensils. Somehow while eating, Monty waved his pointer finger as a small stream of blood was falling from the tip. They remembered when Miles asked how he cut himself. In response, he held up the plastic knife. In union, Miles and Kerry face-palmed at him.
"Hey! There was something sharp on it! Remember when in 6th grade, it was November 7th and you thought it was pajama day, but it was actually the day after. So you came to school with them and you were the only one who had them on that day." Monty rebutted with a smirk. Agitated, Kerry rolled his eyes.
"I thought we were over that!"
"I'm still not over it! I have the photo of you in the "Space Invaders" pajamas!" Both of them looked a each other, huge, wide smiles on their faces. Unable to hold it much louder, a large roar of laughter swept the rooftop. It's times like these they love, away from stress and work, to just laugh at each others dumb moments. Smiles and tears of laughter were still on their faces as Miles walked up to them both, his eyes shining with amusement, and asked what they were doing. As Monty and Kerry explained, all 3 men began to walk back inside, giggling like school girls while their arms are around each other. The moon felt like it was brighter than before to all of them.
